Fight the Tape
(redirected from Fights the Tape)

    0.01 sec.
Fight the Tape
To buy when most traders are selling and vice versa. Generally speaking, investors are advised not to fight the tape; most analysts consider it irrational behavior.

fight the tape
To trade securities against the trend. A trader fights the tape if he or she continues to buy stock in a declining market or sell stock in a rising market. One of the axioms of stock market trading is to not fight the tape. Of course, the premise is that a trader is actually able to determine what the tape is really saying.
