Federal Farm Credit Bank An institution created by the government with the purpose of uniting the financing activities of the Federal Land Banks, the Federal Intermediate Credit Banks, and the banks for cooperatives. See: Federal Farm Credit System. Federal Farm Credit Bank A bank that provides loans for agricultural or other rural use. Most loans from federal farm credit banks are for commercial agriculture, but they also finance personal and recreational projects. They also issue short-term securities to finance their activities. Federal farm credit banks form part of the Farm Credit System. See also: Farm Credit Act, Farmer Mac, Agency bond.
