Fifth letter of a Nasdaq stock symbol specifying that the issue is a foreign company.

F
A symbol appearing next to a stock listed on NASDAQ indicating that the stock belongs to a foreign company. All NASDAQ listings use a four-letter abbreviation; if an F follows the abbreviation, this indicates that the security being traded represents a foreign company.

1. Used in bond transaction tables in newspapers to indicate a bond that trades flat: Datpnt 8 7/8 06f.
2. Used in mutual fund transaction tables in newspapers to indicate that the price quotation is derived from the previous day's trading: Gro Inc f.
