Ex-Warrants

Also found in: Acronyms 0.01 sec.
Ex-warrants
Describes a stock sale during the time in which the buyer of the stock is not entitled to the warrant accompanying the stock.

Ex-Warrant
Describing the sale of a security after a warrant has been announced but before it has been distributed. When a security is sold ex-warrant, the warrant remains with the seller. Selling ex-warrant almost invariably reduces the price for which the security is sold. See also: Cum warrant.

ex-warrants
Used to refer to a stock that no longer carries the right to a distribution of declared warrants. The buyer of a stock trading ex-warrants therefore will not receive the warrants. A stock trading in this manner is indicated in stock transaction tables by the symbol xw. Compare with warrants.
