Euroterrorism

Euroterrorism

A term pertaining to any of a number of terrorist organizations that operated throughout Europe, and occasionally worked together, in the 1970s and 1980s. Euroterrorist groups had different goals: for example, the Irish Republican Army opposed British presence in Northern Ireland, while the Cellules Communistes Combattantes in Belgium fought against capitalism. Some groups were nationalist, while others focused on promoting a left wing ideology.
