Eurodollar certificate of deposit

A certificate of deposit paying interest and principal in dollars, but issued by a bank outside the United States, usually in Europe.

Eurodollar CD

A certificate of deposit denominated in U.S. dollars, but issued and held outside the United States. Almost all Eurodollar certificates of deposit are issued by banks in London.
