Eurocredit Market

    0.01 sec.
Eurocredit market
Comprises banks that accept deposits and provide loans in large denominations and in a variety of currencies. The banks that constitute this market are the same banks that constitute the Eurocurrency market; the difference is that Eurocredit loans are longer-term than so-called Eurocurrency loans.

Eurocredit Market
Banks who make and receive loans in currencies outside the jurisdiction of the issuing central bank. The term has nothing to do with the euro; and the prefix "euro-" is used more generally to refer to deposits outside the jurisdiction of the local central bank, e.g. "euroruble." Eurocredit loans are usually large and long-term. Banks participating in the eurocredit market generally also participate in the eurocurrency market.
