Equity options

Securities that give the holder the right (but not the obligation) to buy or sell a specified number of shares of stock, at a specified price for a certain (limited) time period. Typically one option equals 100 shares of stock.

Equity Option

An option contract on a stock. The holder of an equity option has the ability to buy (in a call) or sell (in a put) some number of stocks in a certain company at a given strike price on or before the expiration date. See also: NEO.
