Reilly, whose practice at the Westfield-based law firm of Farer Fersko, focuses strongly on eminent domain law, will moderate a presentation at Urban Core III, New Jersey's premier revitalization workshop. On November 7, voters in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and South Carolina overwhelmingly approved constitutional amendments prohibiting the use of eminent domain to transfer land from one private party to another for economic development purposes. Supreme Court ruling in 2005 that a Connecticut city had the right to use eminent domain to seize private property and turn it over to a private developer to further the community's economic development plan. |
