ESP
The ISO 4217 currency code for the Spanish Peseta.

ESP
ISO 4217 code for the Spanish peseta. It was introduced in 1869 when Spain joined the Latin Monetary Union and continued to be the currency even after that was abolished in 1927. In 1959, Spain joined the Bretton Woods System and pegged the peseta to the U.S. dollar. The peseta was replaced by the euro in 2002.
