Dow Jones & Company, Inc. A financial publishing company based in New York. It publishes a large number of products, both in print and online. It is particularly well known for publishing The Wall Street Journal and Barron's Magazine. Additionally, it publishes thousands of indices on securities; the three best known are the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the Dow Jones Utility Average, and the Down Jones Transportation Average. It was established in 1882 and is a subsidiary of News Corporation.
