Customer Type Indicator Codes
A numbered code used on futures exchanges to indicate different types of transactions. CTIs are filed (along with other paper work) with the exchange's clearing house. The codes are numbered one, two, three, and four. A code of one means that an exchange member was trading on his/her own account. Two indicates transactions by clearing members on their proprietary accounts. Three is a transaction conducted by a member for another member. Finally, four is a transaction by a member for a client.
