Cumulative Volume Index

In technical analysis, an index tracking possible future price movements for the broader market. It is calculated by subtracting the volume of declining stocks from the volume of advancing stocks and adding the difference to a running count. A declining CVI is thought to be bearish while an advancing CVI is thought bullish. See also: OBV.
