Make-up
The amount of deficiency when a cash flow or capital item is deficient. For example, an interest make-up relates to the interest amount above a ceiling percentage.

Make-Up
The amount by which that a cash flow or some other capital must increase in order to break even. For example, if a margin account is in deficiency by $500, it may be said to have a $500 make-up.
