Core Plus An investment strategy in portfolios and mutual funds in which the majority ? sometimes up to 75% ? of the portfolio consists of low-risk and risk-free securities, such as Treasury and investment-grade bonds, that are held for the long-term, while the remainder consists of securities carrying higher risk. One adopts a core plus strategy in order to attempt to capitalize on certain securities while also limiting risk. It is one of the more common investment strategies.
