Consumer Protection Telemarketing Act

Legislation in the United States prohibiting telephone salespersons from using certain practices. Among other provisions, the Act disallows telemarketers from lying to potential buyers and requires orders made over the telephone to be delivered within a certain period of time. It was passed in 1993.
