An electronic service, regulated by the SEC, containing quotation information for securities listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, and other, regional exchanges, as well as member firms in the National Association of Securities Dealers. NASDAQ also processes the data and provides it to subscribers under the name Composite Quotation Service.

Consolidated Quotation System (CQS)

An electronic system for disseminating the bid, ask, and size for a security in each market in which the security is traded. CQS was developed in 1978 by the National Association of Securities Dealers and the organized exchanges.
