Automobile Comprehensive

An insurance policy providing coverage for damage caused to one's car, the damage the car itself causes, and/or the car's theft. Automobile comprehensive insurance combines automobile liability insurance (which covers damage the car causes) and automobile collision (which covers damage to the car itself). All U.S. states require drivers to have liability insurance, but comprehensive coverage is not mandatory.
