Commitments of Traders Report
A report published each week by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission detailing major changes in traders' positions over the previous week. Specifically, it records and publishes changes to open positions on derivatives with more than 20 traders. The COT provides a quick reference for investors to understand the complex procedures and trades that occur on the CFTC. This in turn helps them make investment decisions.
