Club Deal A situation in which a group of private equity firms acquires a publicly-traded company. A club deal can be beneficial to the private equity firms because it reduces the capital each must use in order to buy the company. However, because a club deal reduces the number of competing bids, shareholders may receive a smaller price for their shares. See also: Hostile takeover. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
