Certificate of Origin
A document certifying the country of origin for goods sold internationally.

Certificate of Origin
A document stating the country in which a product was manufactured. Many countries require certificates of origin as part of the paperwork necessary for importing goods. This is because most nations give certain other nations preferential or detrimental treatment with regard to trade. That is, it may charge no or very low tariffs on some countries while charging very high tariffs on others. A certificate of origin lets customs agents know what fees are applicable to a given shipment of goods.
