Calculation Agent
A person who calculates the value of a derivative and/or determines who owes what to whom in a swap. The calculation agent is usually a market maker. Sometimes both parties use a single calculation agent for a transaction, but sometimes each party uses a different agent. In this case, the two calculation agents jointly share responsibilities and must work together on the transaction. See also: Clearing Corporation.
