Coface The French Export Credit Agency. Coface A corporation in France that extends credit to French exporters. It was established by the French government and has subsequently been privatized. Coface also provides guarantees and insurance accounts receivable for exports, and it is known for providing information on country risk and other political risk matters. Like other export credit agencies (ECAs), Coface is controversial; critics allege that ECAs negatively impact international development, as developing countries cannot compete with such insured exports. Proponents of ECAs argue that they enable developing countries to import products they otherwise would not be able to afford. How to thank TFD for its existence?
