A type of order where a client instructs the broker to purchase a stock at a price below the current market price.

Notes:
An example is placing a buy order at $25 for a stock that is currently trading at $27.

buy minus
Of or relating to an order to purchase a security only when the last change in the security's price is downward. A buy-minus order may be used to acquire a position in a security during a short-term price decline.
