Break in Service

    0.01 sec.
Break in Service
A situation in which an employee temporarily ceases to be an employee. For example, an employee may find another job but then come back to the original workplace. Alternatively, he/she may be fired and then re-hired. In general, this does not negatively impact the employee's pension or other benefits provided the break in service was not longer than an agreed-upon period of time.
