Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil
Also called the Comissao de Valores Mobiliarios or the CVM. An agency of the Brazilian government that serves as the primary regulator of the securities trade. It attempts to ensure that all trades are fair, and that no price manipulation or insider trading occurs. Additionally, the CVM promotes full disclosure and transparency to ensure competitiveness. It was established in 1976.
