Brand Preference The extent to which a consumer makes purchasing decisions based on a brand name rather than the quality of a product or the price. Brand names include logos, catchphrases, symbols or even the name of the company itself. Most marketing campaigns are designed to convince consumers that a brand's product is superior, whether or not it actually is. For this reason, brand name products are often more expensive.
