Boxtop Offer

The offer of a free or reduced price item from a manufacturer if the buyer presents the top of a box (usually a cereal box) upon purchase. A boxtop offer is made to encourage people who buy cereal (or some other common item) to also purchase the stated product. Some manufacturers have standing relationships with cereal companies for boxtop offers.
