Direct Marketing Block The use of a block group in a direct mail or other marketing campaign. A block group is a location used by the U.S. Census Bureau where approximately 800 to 1,000 people live. As the name indicates, a block group is usually a collection of city blocks. A marketer uses block groups and the demographic information contained in them to identify the persons most likely to respond to a particular marketing campaign. It may also be used in a marketing campaign to test which block groups respond. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
