Blackboard Trading

The practice of trading on commodities or futures on an exchange floor with an actual blackboard. That is, trades are written on the blackboard and erased when they are no longer relevant. Blackboard trading has become rather unusual, but it is useful on small exchanges or for securities with light trading volume.
