A widely used reference to the three major automobile manufacturers in the United States: Chrysler Division of DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and General Motors.

Big Three
The three largest automobile firms in the United States: General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford. Historically, their performance was considered an indicator of the performance of the wider American economy.
