Securities ownership certificates that are not registered in a name. As with other bearer securities, bearer stock is a negotiable certificate that can be transferred between owners without endorsement. Bearer stock is popular in Europe but not in the United States.
Bearer Stock
A stock that contains no ownership information and whose physical bearer is presumed to be the owner. Bearer stocks may be bought and sold without endorsement. They are quite rare.
