Basis Quote

Basis Quote
In futures contracts, a quote for a contract made with reference to another contract. For example, if a contract with expiry in June is $15 and another contract with expiry in September is $20, the basis quote for the September contract is June expiry + $5. Theoretically, basis quotes consolidate and make quoting futures contracts easier.
