Baltic International Freight Futures Exchange
A former exchange in London on which futures contracts for dry goods being shipped internationally were traded. Futures on tanker freights were traded on the exchange briefly in 1986, but met with little interest. The Baltic International Freight Futures Exchange was established in 1985 and ceased operations in 2001 due to illiquidity.
