BRIC

BRIC
An acronym for Brazil, Russia, India and China. The BRIC countries are considered four of the most important developing countries to have graduated to developed nations. They are noted for growing liquidity, stability, infrastructure and other positive features, and have been projected by some to be the four largest economies in the world by 2050.

Global funds finding their way into the BRIC nations take similar calls on the key benchmark indices of all the four economies.
Its Emerging Powers Integration Index shows the BRICS are firmly entrenched in the economies of their regional neighbors and in nations with mineral endowments and politically unstable or repressive states such as Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe and Iran.
currency's reserve currency status was once again in focus ahead of the G8 meeting this week, with another BRIC nation, India, calling for diversification, and with ECB's Trichet, France, Russia and China all expressing various views (although China and Russia admitted there was little alternative to the USD).
