BGN
The current ISO 4217 currency code for Bulgarian Lev.

BGN
ISO 4217 code for the fourth Bulgarian lev. The fourth lev replaced the third lev in 1999 at a ratio of 1,000 third leva to one fourth lev. At its introduction, the lev was pegged to the Deutsche mark at a 1:1 ratio. When Germany changed over to the euro, Bulgaria unofficially switched its peg to the new currency at a ratio of 1.95583 leva to one euro.
