BB
The two-character ISO 3166 country code for BARBADOS.

BB
1. A credit rating used by S&P and Fitch credit rating agencies for long-term bonds and some other investments. It is subdivided (in descending order) into BB+, BB, and BB-. A BB rating is equivalent to the Ba rating range used by Moody's. A BB rating represents a medium risk junk bond or investment; because it has junk status, banks are not allowed to invest in BB rated bonds. However, BB is at the top of the junk ratings, being only one grade below investment grade ratings. Risk averse investors must therefore exercise caution in BB investments but less caution than other junk bonds, especially if the rating was recently upgraded.

2. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for Barbados. This is the code used in international transactions to and from Barbadian bank accounts.

3. ISO 3166-2 geocode for Barbados. This is used as an international standard for shipping to Barbados. Each Barbadian parish has its own code with the prefix "BB." For example, the code for Christ Church Parish is ISO 3166-2:BB-01.

BB
A grade assigned to a debt obligation by a rating agency to indicate significant speculative elements and a moderate ability to pay interest and repay principal. Also called Ba.
