Awareness, Trial, Repeat In marketing, a model of the three steps a person takes in becoming a buyer of a product. Awareness occurs when, through advertising or word of mouth, the customer comes to know of the existence of the product. Trial occurs when the customer purchases the product for the first time to see how he/she likes it. Finally, repeat occurs when the customer becomes a repeat buyer and perhaps develops loyalty to the product. It is abbreviated ATR. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
