Anti-Competitive A practice intended to subvert or eliminate competition. Many analysts believe competition is good for customers because it encourages companies to offer better quality products and/or lower prices. Anti-competitive measures, like price fixing or collusion, remove this incentive and thereby hamper innovation and growth. Many countries have laws banning or limiting anti-competitive activities, though opponents, notably Ayn Rand and her followers, argue that they encourage economic inefficiency and punish success.
