Andean Trade Initiative

Andean Trade Initiative
The structure that implements the Andean Trade Preference Act (ATPA). The ATI eliminates tariffs and other preferential treatments on most imports coming from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The ATI is meant to encourage production of goods other than narcotics, for which the Andean area is known. See also: Caribbean Basin Initiative.
