Ambiguous Statement
In advertising, any statement that does not have a specific meaning. Ambiguous statements are particularly useful if a new product does not have a target audience or if the producer is unsure to whom it will appeal. For example, an advertiser may call a new product "fresh" in its advertising because, although it may mean different things to different people, it is usually interpreted positively.
