ALCO Asset-Liability Committee Also called ALCO. A committee at a bank charged with ensuring the bank has enough assets to pay for its liabilities. It does this by monitoring the risk of the bank's investments as well as its capital structure. It reports to the board of directors and generally must also provide information to regulators.
