Airbus Industries Group

A major European aircraft manufacturer. It was established around 1970 as several European governments consolidated their manufacturing companies in order to compete with American companies, notably Boeing. Airbus produces both military and civilian aircraft, which are used by airlines worldwide. Its competitors, especially Boeing, have protested that the government aid Airbus receives gives it an unfair advantage.
