Describing any period of time after a stock exchange has closed. It is often used in reference to after-hours trading.

after the bell
Following the formal close of trading for the day. The phrase originates from the bell that rings each day to signal the close of trading on the New York Stock Exchange. For example, a company may announce important news following the close of trading or "after the bell."
