Ad Hoc

Describing anything constituted for a single purpose or to deal with a certain situation. It especially describes a reaction to a spontaneous situation. For example, the board of directors of a company may form an ad hoc committee to deal with a labor dispute. Once the dispute is resolved, the committee will cease to exist.
