Accrued Benefit Cost Method
A way to calculate the future expense of an employee's retirement benefits. The accrued benefit cost method calculates the benefits an employee earns each year by participating in a retirement plan. One then calculates the present value of the benefits by considering the employee's life expectancy and assigns this value to the year the employee earns those benefits.
