Accidental Death Benefit The benefit paid on accidental death and dismemberment insurance. In general, the accidental death benefit is paid if the policyholder dies as the result of a non-work related accident. A policy may also pay an accidental death benefit if the policyholder loses a limb or sustains some other, major injury. This benefit is over and above what the beneficiary would receive from a normal life insurance policy. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
