ATA Carnet

ATA Carnet
A Temporary Admission Carnet. A certificate allowing the import of a good into another country or territory for a period of one year. An ATA carnet allows a good to enter the country without tariffs or similar fees, provided it leaves the country within the year. See also: Admission Temporaire.

As a long-time advocate of the ATA Carnet in the Gulf region, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry led the way for the UAE and the GCC countries to join the system by organizing a two-day seminar and workshop entitled, "Why Should the Middle East Have International Trade Facilitations via ATA Carnet System" in association with the International Chamber of Commerce's World Chambers Federation at its headquarters in Dubai on the 2nd & 3rd of November 2009.
