ADF
1. Asian Development Fund. An instrument of the Asian Development Bank that offers grants and low-interest loans to developing countries in Asia. The ADF seeks to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development in its program area. It was established in 1973 and is funded through its donor countries.

2. African Development Foundation. An independent agency of the U.S. government that provides grants to enterprises and community groups intended to promote development in Sub-Saharan Africa. That is, it promotes small businesses and non-profit organizations in its program area. It was established in 1980 and is considered one of the best-run U.S. government agencies.
