Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance An insurance policy that provides coverage if the policyholder (or his/her dependent) dies as the result of a non-work related accident. That is, accidental death insurance provides a death benefit over and above what the beneficiary would receive from a normal life insurance policy. Often, the insurance policy will also provide a benefit if the policyholder loses a limb or sustains some other, major injury. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
